Red; when Quinton had gotten up that morning—his eyes half lidded and his bladder full—he hadn’t expected to find a red puddle in his underwear as he sat to pee. Nonetheless, he stripped off the sticky boxers and threw them over the edge of the tub to wash later. It stained the off-white plastic a rustic red.
Red; the same red that colors Adrian’s nose as his face moves buried between Quinton’s thighs.

It wasn’t until he could feel his thumb rubbing into his skin that his focus was snapped. Suddenly all he could register was the warm palm and cold fingertips against his skin. The older man took off his glove.
His gaze went to Kopi and he was met with stern eyes.
“Forget about it, Quinn. Reset and prepare for the next moment you’re on the ice.”
Quinton nodded, the hair on his arms standing up. “I will, thanks.” His voice came out strained but neither of them addressed it. Quinn, no one had ever called him Quinn before. It felt electric.

It took two to find your soulmate anyway, so it wasn't fully on him.

Trevor nuzzles into Joel. He runs a comfortable hand through her hair, probably not even questioning it. Trevor feels a little bit like a dog, but it feels kind of nice, so she lets it slide. “Technically, we’re famous too,” she says.
Cole waves his hand. “I mean, like, real famous. She’s real famous and you’re ‘I-play-ice-hockey-in-California’ famous. That’s not real fame, Z.”

Trevor wasn’t used to being the possessive one. He was the one being possessed. Not the other way around.
But then he saw Jamie for the first time at World Juniors and he wanted to make him his. And he had elbowed Cole sharply when he saw a similar look on his face. Cole didn’t stand a chance anyway. Jamie was going to be Trevor’s teammate, not Cole’s.
