Gwen continued to walk, and with a nauseated feeling, she wondered if Morgana ever felt this way when thinking about her. If coming up with this plan to trap her and thinking about it ever made her want to throw up, even just the tiniest bit. She often asked herself if Morgana ever felt even an ounce of their shared history pressing on her shoulders and weighing down her heart like she did, with every memory tearing at her soul. If she ever lay awake at night, mourning for the loss of someone who hadn't died.
or: in which Gwen mourns Morgana, who is still walking in front of her while Morgana attempts to push away all the memories that dare to plague her mind at the sight of Gwen's face.

She can’t do anything but bite down when she’s presented with the succulent mask of fresh fruit, find again and again its reality long decomposed, festering and putrid. Her eyes tell her one thing, and her mouth swallows down the truth. She keeps eating.
Attempting to reconcile two halves of one whole, when one half is lost and the other is masquerading as something dead, is an impossible feat.
