Summary
“Would you like me better if I was a girl?” Dylan suddenly blurted out, breaking their silence, his brain finally crashing to a standstill.
“Uh… what?” Ryan asked, looking perplexed at Dylan’s sudden question, staring at him.
Dylan didn’t repeat himself — the infection was thundering through his veins, his mind, invading all his personal and private thoughts and making them finally cut through a repressed wall in the back of his head by being spoken aloud. He doesn’t even know why he asked the question, but it was suddenly so important that Ryan replied. He wasn’t even sure if he was talking to Ryan anymore.
Or:
An appropriately unhinged The Quarry rewrite where the I like to project onto characters I relate too.
(7/8 — I edited this bc I’m writing a pre-canon chapter lmao)Series

Summary
Jacob is having a hard time dealing with the After. He's the reason Kaitlyn doesn't seem like Kaitlyn. Her smiles are all wrong. Her laughter isn't like before.
And now she's a lost werewolf somewhere downtown.
All because of him.

Summary
With Hackett’s Quarry behind them, life was supposed to continue. Dylan was supposed to be normal again and bounce back. For his parents. For Ryan.
But normal people didn’t have panic attacks in the middle of a college campus. Normal people didn’t avoid eating meatloaf because it smelled like blood.
And they certainly didn’t have yellow eyes during the full moon.

Summary
Fuck this entire day forever.
Nothing could have gone worse in the past few hours. Literally nothing. The car breaking down, the fire pit going awry, Nick getting bitten, everyone getting split up, and finally, Dylan getting bitten as well.
He and Ryan now trekked to the scrapyard in search of a replacement for the rotor arm.

Summary
“You know the saying.” He tries for a weak laugh. “If one of your work friends gets bit by a werewolf…why not join the party. Solidarity…and all.”
“Why not let your other work friend cut off your hand…et cetera.”
“You were the one who didn’t want to!”
“I panicked, okay?! And now I’m…maybe panicking again,” Ryan says, reluctant, and Dylan gets it. He probably wouldn’t go with himself either all the way to the scrapyard.
“If you don’t wanna…you know, tag along in case I bite your hand off before you get a chance to hold mine, I get it,” he jokes, or tries to.
OR: dylan and ryan don’t have anything better to do than survive, and sometimes flirt.
