He opens his sketchbook– the one he’s kept of her for many years– going through the countless new drawings he’s added since she’s arrived. She wonders what kind of house they live in, if they have a porch and a backyard where she can explore for bugs. She wonders what kind of man her dad-to-be is, if he is stern and strict, but kind like in the movies. She wonders what kinds of things she will do with her mom-to-be, if she will bake a cake for her upcoming birthday, or if she will be soft like in the books she’s read. She can’t help but imagine what they look like, all elegant and fancy, or how they speak, all proper and dignified. What she doesn’t expect is the blue-haired girl she met at the hospital three weeks ago, and a boy who looks like he knows everything about you at a glance. She looks at them with all the skepticism in the world, and they look back at her with a grin, like they are accepting the challenge.

Six months after Vi's life falls apart, Jinx goes to check on her sister and finds her in a bad place. Out of some sense of loyalty and love, she invites Vi on a trip to Viktor's cult without reason - but when they start traveling, she notices Vi muttering to herself and flinching at nothing. As time goes on, Jinx watches Vi slip off the deep end and lose her mind, talking to thin air, constantly disoriented and confused, hitting and hurting herself when upset, and refusing to eat, drink, or sleep, and she decides to take Vi back to Zaun and a familiar environment in the hopes of bringing her back to normal. On the way back, Caitlyn shows up, her men having alerted her that something was wrong with Vi, and (after a brief catfight with Jinx) takes her back to the Kiramman home for treatment, where she and Jinx (mostly) set aside their differences and work together trying to bring Vi back to normal. Despite relationship tension between all three of them, Isha the only one who's not involved in some kind of argument, things start going better as all of them slowly mend their relationships and mental states.
And then they figure out that Vi's pregnant.

Summary
Silco's... not a good parent. As much as he loves his daughter, he has a few flaws when it comes to her. But he can explain it all away, from slipping drugs into her tea to keep her his perfect little girl to keeping her safe away from the world. He can even explain giving her to the Enforcers in exchange for Zaun - after all, they've given their word that Jinx is not to be harmed.
Ekko, meanwhile, went to the bridge upon overhearing the Enforcers' plans to capture Jinx on their radios - she's too far gone, and as the last person who knew Powder as well as the leader of the Firelights, it's his job to put her down.
But after rescuing her instead upon realizing Jinx is still at least a little Powder, when he learns that 'Jinx' the persona isn't real but instead a defense mechanism, upon learning about the drugs in her system and the pain and fear inflicted on her, he insists she can be saved.
And thus begins the rest of her life.
(Featuring childhood-friends-to-enemies-to-friends-to-lovers Timebomb, a complicated relationship between Jinx and Silco, genius Firelight bioengineer Jinx/Powder, and Jinx proving she's stronger and better than anyone gives her credit for.)

Ekko's spread too thin, and Jinx wants nothing more than connect with him and make him feel her love when the whole world goes against him.

She did this for him every time he spent the night at her place, unpacking Ekko’s things into the one drawer in her closet that, even amidst all the chaos and the lack of space in the room, stayed empty, waiting for him. She did so even before their first kiss, when they were totally just friends, but fell asleep side by side, or back to back, waking up in a tangle of limbs the morning after.
