Summary
You've been in cahoots with Dr. Octavius ever since before he started to expand his career into aspects of Nuclear Fusion. However, you didn't follow him down that path due to growing affection, and instead kept him at arm's length for your own and his wife's sake.
Now, after the incident, he finds himself maneuvering into your apartment every so often, building somewhat of a situationship; seeking you out either for medical aid or to talk with someone other than his Actuators; sometimes evolving into something more that neither of you want to address. This evening falls under the ladder and results in an question emerging from your own interest in him.

Doc Ock turns to face you, and you feel like melting into the sidewalk. “Who the fuck are you? A high school intern?” His actuators carry him closer, so he looms, suspended over you like the revenant of a hanged man.
“I’m twenty-three!” you say indignantly, not taking your eyes off him, hoping he won’t look around and see Spiderman creeping closer behind him, about to nab one of the bags of money with a web.

The multiversal spell meant to remove Otto from existence doesn't, leaving the reformed villain alone in limbo, and with many questions, beginning with Jameson's newest broadcast about the unmasked webslinger.
Last time Otto checked, Peter was anything but unmasked.

Summary
After the events of NWH, Otto and Norman get sent back to their universe but is 20 years into the future. Both are left disoriented and confused with nowhere to go so their version of Peter takes them in until they can get back on their feet. Norman is now a broken man, having to deal with the guilt of his actions as the Green Goblin and having to grieve the death of his only son, as Otto tries to help his old friend through these hard times while navigating the future but that's easier said than done. It also doesn't help that the public recognizes them as Doc Ock and Green Goblin, back from the dead and are now going to court against the new CEO of Oscorp.

Otto and Norman knew none the wiser and you planned to keep it that way for the remainder of your hero career. You could keep your two lives separate fairly easy, working at Oscorp during the day and fighting crime by night.
It was fine. You could manage.
That is, until a mishap with a fusion reactor throws these two separate lives into a spiral.
