He didn't notice the dark look washing over Jet's angry face. Sonic tried calling out again, pleading- no begging for Jet to end whatever fight this was and to get out of the truck. It fell on deaf ears.
His boyfriend warned Sonic again, this time the truck rolling a couple of inches, front left tire touching the tip of a red shoe, before he hit the brakes.
"Sonic. Get, out, of, the, way!" Jet hissed over the loud engine.
"No!" He screeched back, tears spilling down his face. The green hawk's face relaxed, carefully blank for a few moments. After a long, pregnant pause, he slammed his foot on the gas.
The only thing Sonic could process was the hot white pain shooting up his leg. Sparks of red flew around him, and he screamed before everything went black.

"The reason...the reason I'm upset is because Robotnik seems to be pushing me aside in favor of the professor, and that really hurts my feelings because... because I'm having a baby with him. I'm carrying his child, his heir, and yet he seems to care more about his grandfather whom he's only known for less than a day."
