Geordi was wired for engineering, for coaxing things apart and back together again in his hands. He loves the same way he builds and rebuilds and repairs, the way he talks to the ship's computer and climbs without hesitation into the warp drive chamber and runs manual diagnostics with slow, warm touches once a month even though Data could do it himself, even though it could wait until he identified something wrong. The same way his fingers twist into Data's uniform when he beams back up to the ship after a mission gone awry and the same way he kisses Data's hands when they have time to relax, his knuckles and his palms and his fingertips, his inner wrists.
Data will spend the rest of his life continuing to learn how to speak with touches as Geordi does so effortlessly if it will keep him this happy.
Or: Geordi is ticklish, Data is interested, and sex is better when it's with somebody you know how to love.

Summary
The Lone Traveler was created by another author over a decade ago. I asked permission to write stories with the character but the author never responded. He also disappeared from the fanfiction universe. So after two years, I went ahead.
Originally a tortured soul, he healed himself by helping others and, eventually, was promoted for his good works.
The occasional story may be added, but I have taken it to the farthest conclusion I can go: The Lone Traveler meeting the figure which, in the author's opinion, inspired the concept of a super-powered Harry Potter.
It doesn't end with dramatic action. It ends quietly with a concept of hope. After all, hope was the driving force behind the character the entire time.

Summary
Thanks to a multi-cause multiversal snafu, people from various works of fiction are being deposited into what would otherwise be a universe indistinguishable from real life beginning in late-2016. Trustworthy natives (including the self-insert characters of the writing circle, who are outnumbered by original characters) are originally tasked with making sure these "displacees" have a place to live, but will end up taking on additional responsibilities ... especially when some displacees decide they don't like the arrangements in their new universe. Some will jump at the call to defend their new homes. Others will refuse it. Many will not be called at all. And they all have places in this world.
