In the midst of this bleak chapter of Clan history, a kit is born to a ThunderClan father and a RiverClan mother- dangerous, in an era where half-Clan cats and kittypets are sentenced to death by the Dark Forest. When the truth of their birth is discovered, they find their paws being sent on paths that she had never dreamed of... and meeting cats that those by the lake had long since forgotten about - which may just turn out to be the last ember of hope to keep the way of the Clans alive.

The major characters will also be referred to by their final names, such as Rusty, Firepaw, and Fireheart, being called Firestar regardless of what their actual names should be. The exception is when other characters are speaking to them, and do not know their full name.
Heavily inspired by The Amagi's Naruto series what-ifs of the same situation.

Summary
Right before the dawn of TigerClan, RiverClan queens Mistyfoot and Silverstream manage to escape its clutches by fleeing to ThunderClan, but they are unable to take their kits with them. In a desperate move, they convince Leopardstar to hide the young cats away in an underground fox den until their mothers can arrange for their reunion.
It was supposed to be for only a few days. But the wait slowly turns to moons, and then to seasons. Featherpaw struggles with the responsibility of keeping four little kits alive in such conditions, as well as the growing strangeness between her and her brother.

Leopardstar shrugs. “I didn’t see either of you coming up with an explanation. You’re welcome for covering your tails.” She ambles to her den and doesn’t look back at them.
Stormpaw can feel Hawkpaw’s gaze burning holes into the side of his head. He sighs and decides that he’s ready for this night to be over, and he trudges to the apprentice den. If Hawkpaw wants to stand outside and glare at Stormpaw from all the way across the camp, let him.
It’s not like he's the one who just told all of RiverClan that they’re in love with each other.
