Summary
It has been a year since Nora slammed the door on the Helmer home, and a year since Torvald began spiralling down fits of depression. But that's not the end of his misfortune; Krogstad has married Kristine and replaced Torvald as Bank Manager after Nora's forgery was found out, and now Torvald is his subordinate.
On a drunken night some months ago, Torvald found Dr Rank downing mug after mug of wine and whiskey beside him, with him. Cured of his illnesses, Dr Rank has returned after Nora's departure.
Someway, somehow, Torvald found himself in the beds of these two men—one an old friend whom he thought all but hated him, another the man whom Nora had truly adored instead of him.
And yet, Torvald could not untangle himself from his licentious behaviours.
He was confused, by Krogstad, cruel and cold, who would swaddle him in blankets after their sessions. And by Dr Rank, what with his nihilistic charm, and his insistent attempts to pull Torvald back from hell when he'd drink himself too far gone.
Torvald, conflicted, now struggles to choose between them. But must he?
