Vax'ildan annoys the Clasp one too many times, and they decide to teach him a lesson... Vax finds himself framed for a crime he didn't commit, and on the ferry to Electrum Reach Isle Penitentiary, just off the coast of Emon. It's not the first time he's ended up there, but he doesn't know how long he'll be stuck there, this time. Not long after, he gets a new cell mate... this one, is a first timer... It's more than obvious... He's young, terrified, and apparently, he's in for attempted murder... Vax has connections that can help get him out of jail. This kid has nothing but a price on his head, with a demand that he doesn't live to see his trial date... Vax isn't about to let that happen. He's getting out. And he's taking this kid with him...

Summary
An Emergency Room in Emon is about to be overrun... Two local gangs, the Clasp and the Myriad, are a war, and a big fight just went down. This small ER is getting ready to start receiving patients. The young Emergency doctor on staff has ordered the other doctors on call to be called in, but for now, Percival de Rolo is the only doctor there. His team is preparing for a hard night. He's calling in extra security; he doesn't want any violence breaking out in his ER! One of the newer RN's, Vax, is very nervous. First, he used to run with the Clasp... he's not looking forward to meeting up with them again. And second... he and Percy have been together for a couple of years now. And he doesn't want Percy anywhere near these people. But... the doctor has to treat his patients... and... the gangs... have to fight. And when a conflict inevitably does arise, Dr. de Rolo is NOT having it.
The gunshots in the ER are deafening. And Vax can feel his whole world shatter...

So far, there have been no leads. Until a young woman by the name of Vex'ahlia comes to them, claiming to have a lead. She tells them that her twin brother has also gone missing, and she swears the disappearances are connected... When she gives them her brother's laptop, they discover that she is very, very right...
