“Before the virus took over, that’s what I did as well.” Newt finally speaks up after a few minutes of silence, offering Thomas a tiny smile when he looks at him. “I laid awake and wondered how you were, wishing on stars that wherever you were, you were alive and safe.”
“I guess even while being apart, we still somehow found our way back to each other, didn’t we?” Thomas whispers and glances up at the stars above them. “We laid under the same stars, wishing on them that the other was okay.”
