Agent Stone hadn’t believed it, at first. Had reread the email and copy-pasted it into Google to see if it was a common script used by bots. Ran it through a few copyright checkers, reread it some more, and double-checked that it was July and not April the 1st. Then he’d emailed Commander Walters back and asked if he’d been hacked, or if maybe this was some bizarre office prank.
It was…legit. Real. He and Dr. Robotnik had been ordered to go on a mandatory vacation.
If the higher ups were going to give them a mandatory vacation, then Robotnik was going to get weird with it.

Summary
After the main battle of Sonic 2 Robotnik is deeply wounded in body and mind and plagued by flashbacks and panic attacks. It's a miracle that he even survived the crash from the giant Robot he built with the power of the Master Emerald. His loyal subordinate Aban Stone (with a hidden crush) tries his best to uplift him and care for him as they spent their days in their new hideout.
But during their time together in that tiny new base everything becomes extremely complicated. Suddenly all those new emotions and insecurities are taking over the Doctor's headspace and are overwhelming him.

Meanwhile, Shadow was able to survive the Eclipse cannon and knows exactly what Stone must be feeling, so he decided to find him, refusing to let anyone end up like him once again. The question here is if he'll do it on time or if it will be too late.(Basically a Stone and Shadow-centric history bc why not? Be prepared for angst, fluff, and a darker and more evil agent Stone because I refuse to see him as a kind, innocent person who wouldn't hurt a fly. both him and Ivo are equally as deranged, and I love them for that (don't change my mind because it's impossible).
