“He’s just a puppy, Hiiragi-san.” He scolded the Dalmatian lightly, “There’s a lot for him to learn, and he’ll catch up in due time.”
It was his acknowledgement of Hiiragi’s words that made Ninohana’s seasick mind settle enough to realize what had transpired in front of him.
The dog had talked. In actual human words. And the man had responded to it. How?
“Look at that face, first time seeing something like this?” A Doberman laughed as it rounded the corner to sneak a look in, “Someone shoulda invited me if we were breaking in the newbie, I love the way they react.”
Ninohana Kikyou was the first untrained puppy taken in by Kenshirou. The others had come from a background of police dog training, while he has no way to prove himself capable of handling the strain of the dog-to-human translation tags. An alternate ending to Ikkaku and Musashi's fight where No. 634 ends up being severely injured. He recovers enough to be moved out of the underground cell where he can see Kenshiro and the other guards and inmates more often, but Hitoshi wonders if it was worth it considering the cost. She never fails to make daily check-ups on him in the hospital, and the couple still manages to enjoy each other's company despite Musashi being bedridden. The two always make it a point to hold each other's hands whenever possible, but Hitoshi notices that Musashi's, which are normally very warm due to his powers, are getting colder over time...
