Two-Bit and Steve make a couple of dumb jokes at the DX, thinking they're being funny.
They don't realize Tim Shepard is right there, and they certainly don't realize their jokes are like little daggers to a man who’s found his whole world in a girl named Pone.
What they see as a scandal, he sees as a miracle.
And you better believe he's not about to let anyone cheapen that.

There was a call out at a sister site in a town about four hours away, something about his wife going into labor unexpectedly. Being in the position he was in, it only made sense for Darry to be the one to take the other guy's place. It would only be for four days. Darry was fine with this.
