Summary
He stared at you, his critical gaze taking in your pitiful state. Abused for hundreds of years, flowers blossoming across your skin. This was much too cruel an outcome, even for him. Like a dying land, you to have had much taken from you and yet the human heart of greed knows no bounds. They take and take and take, not knowing when to stop. Or perhaps they never cared.
He once asked his sister why she left you to your gate; what stops her from taking you to your final resting place?
But Death smiles softly, gently, before taking Dream’s hand in both of hers.
Hope, dear brother. She smiles at him with patience and understanding. She still has hope.
