"I'll miss you," Renjun pulls his lips into a straight line.
Donghyuck feels the pang in his chest, anchoring him down.
"What do you mean?"
"Just that. I'll miss you. I like being around you," he shrugs. "Sucks when I have to leave you like this."
A tough and thick line of worry sinks further into the pit of his stomach, and Donghyuck wants to pout. He wants to yank Renjun back onto the bed, roll the both of them over, and just bury his face into his neck and ask him what he means. But, they've always kind of been like this — a little vague and needy for each other, only settling for what seems easy.
... Renjun's a vampire, and Donghyuck knows he can't stay until morning.

“So what’s your costume?” Jaemin asked, wondering how far he could push him.
“Hmm. I didn’t really go for a particular look today but I guess you could say I’m a vampire.” Renjun grinned, honey in his voice and poison in his smile.
Oh, he was bold.
Renjun gave Jaemin the same treatment he’d given the smaller boy just moments ago, his eyes trailing over Jaemin’s body, his gaze drinking up every detail. Jaemin was used to this and usually, he didn’t flinch at all but somehow this felt different. Jaemin’s skin burned under the intensity of Renjun’s stare. He could feel the blood rush to his face and of course, Renjun noticed that. He smirked without even looking up, not needing to look to know exactly how he got Jaemin’s blood pumping.
“And what are you meant to be?” Renjun finally asked.
Two could be bold.
“You could say I’m a hunter.” Jaemin flashed him a misleadingly saccharine smile.

Renjun’s thirst had always been a huge issue. The Elder’s in his vampire clan had believed it would mellow out and steady as he aged, but the opposite only happened.
There were days or weeks when Renjun was starving, when animal blood wouldn’t satisfy him and he lost himself to his instincts.
Sometimes, he had no appetite, disgusted by the thought of swallowing even a drop of blood.
He couldn’t be here, he could feel his eyes shifting to his predatory ones, his blood singing with the urge to hunt, fangs aching and craving sinking into someone’s flesh and just drinking. Why the hell did he let his boyfriends convince him to go out with their friends when his hunger could turn at any moment?
