The world came into focus slowly. A soft bed beneath his back and a heavy comforter weighing down his chest. It was warm and comfortable. Ajax didn’t want to open his eyes. But he could sense he wasn’t alone and after his terrible few nights, he couldn’t risk letting his guard down,
He blinked his eyes open and everything looked strange. Colors were heightened and he groaned as a headache throbbed behind his eyes.
“Take it slow,” Zhongli told him, his voice soft and closer than Ajax expected.
“What h-happened?” he asked. “The last thing I remember was…”
The memory of that horrid burning pain rushed in and Ajax reached for his neck. It was still bandaged and sore. God, he was so thirsty.
“It was the only way,” Zhongli said sadly. “I am sorry.”

“No need,” he whispers, struggling to keep his saliva at bay. He really needs to close this door right now. “I just need rest,” he slurs, slowly closing the door. Aether smiles something solemn and nods his head.
“Okay. If you need anything, I’m just a door over on the right. Even if you just want company.” On any other day, one where Xiao was not desperate for just the smallest drop of blood, he would have appreciated the offer of kindness. Now, all it does is pull at his still heart with a strange feeling of guilt. His instincts screech blood-blood-blood- drain and insist he tear Aether apart when all the newcomer wants to do is offer a helping hand.Or: Xiao, a Vampire with no safe access to food, is starving to death... and Aether is a little too kind for his own good.

Wordlessly, he took Childe’s hand in his to kiss his fingers and then guide them over to where Childe laid his Mark. It was an upside down triquetra, the same shade of Noctilucous Jade and Childe’s eyes.
“I love it, love your Mark,” I love you.
“I… I can feel it, the power laying in the Mark,” Childe said, as his fingers traced over the small triquetra.
“It means our bond is strong,” Zhongli said, softly. “Rest, now. I know you’re strong, but you should take it easy and focus fully on your recovery.”
Unable to resist, Zhongli leant in to lay a brief kiss on Childe’s temple. Zhongli could feel his blood under his skin, how fiercely Childe blushed at such a simple show of affection.
“Stay with me?” Childe asked, tentatively wrapping his arms around him.
Zhongli didn’t need to be asked twice.

Zhongli’s order delivery is late. It has been two weeks since the regular delivery date and there is still no sign of the usual inconspicuous brown box waiting for Zhongli at his front door when he returns from work.
A normal person would call the delivery service to complain, demand an explanation and leave a bad review, but Zhongli isn’t exactly a normal “person”, nor is this delivery a regular package. He does not have a number to call or an email address to send a complaint to, because a regular package to a normal civilian house does not usually contain blood deliveries, now does it?
