A Five Is Speaking: Relax, it’ll be fine.
A Five Is Speaking: What’s the worst that could happen?
In one universe, a squad of rookies get assigned to a listening post in the middle of nowhere, get caught in the crossfire of a major enemy incursion, and only two make it out alive to fight another day... for a while.
This is not that universe. In this universe a squad of rookies get assigned to a listening post in the middle of nowhere, decide to take on some radical and perhaps ill-advised challenges, try to take the hologaming industry by storm, find a mad scientist lab in the basement, and then, unbelievably, everything goes even further off the rails.
All O'Niner knows is, he's not paid enough to deal with any of this.

Developing a video game was harder than they expected. At least, it was after getting really popular. Hamato Donatello doesn’t trust the purple dragons, nor their leader, Kendra. Obviously. Because that’s what it is, obvious. Objective. Even she can realize that the people who have only ever tried to trick and deceive them and her family, cannot be trusted in any capacity. So obviously, because Donnie is very intelligent, when Kendra approaches her asking for help on a game the evil dragon leader is developing, Donnie says yes. Wait.
Okay. Hear her out. Kendra is soooooo so pretty and she’s cute and mean and that’s exactly Donnie’s type! What was she supposed to say? No? Well… Probably. But whatever! It’s done and now here they sit, complete enemies, multiple “trying to kill each other’s” under their belts. Developing a game together.
Look. Look. Purple satin jackets. Come on!

Meng Shu never expected to wake up in a parallel world where VR technology is everywhere, but horror games are painfully primitive. His saving grace? A game development system that's incredibly easy to use, with a unique currency: player fear.
Every scream, every jolt, every moment of pure dread his players experience fuels his progress. With this terror tax, he can unlock the blueprints for every classic horror game from his past world. While everyone else ignores the genre, Meng Shu sees a golden opportunity.
He begins to unleash a series of VR horror experiences that leave players traumatized. Outlast has them pleading for mercy. Visage keeps them perpetually on edge, jumping at the slightest sound. SOMA plunges them into deep existential dread, and Alien: Isolation teaches them the true meaning of helpless fear.
From Silent Hill to Resident Evil and Five Nights at Freddy's, Meng Shu's growing library of nightmares has one simple goal: to become the undisputed master of fear and make the entire gaming world scream.
