Summary
My thoughts of how Shinjiro died in "voyage of the damned" with some religious trauma sprinkled in.
“Dear goddess, I pray upon you.”
Shinjiro considered himself a good man. A man of faith, a man of peace. The blessed man among the goddess’s people. His sense of importance couldn’t help but become inflated over the years.
He always thought he’d die a good man. A child or two being raised without him knowing who they are, attending summits, and being friendly with the other blessed. Then he would die, maybe peacefully, maybe violently, but it would all be in the goddess’ hands. He would have funeral rites; he would go back to the goddess’ realm.
He had planned for this.
Yet he never thought he would die at thirty on his pilgrimage to a blessed murderer.
He wanted to believe the goddess would protect him.
That become more and more impossible after each body turned up
