Almost two thousand years have passed since the first reincarnation, and many have followed; Crowley is growing impatient to see Aziraphale yet again, and will start reaching for him early. They find Aziraphale for the first time as a child, and come to meet him as a small dragon, befriending him like an animal would, and stays in the vicinities of him while he grows up.
The child grows to be a warrior, meant to protect his country from Evil; during his youth, he slays many a beast, though his abilities are often underestimated by his peers. Aziraphale is trained as a monster hunter. Develops his skills, but remains humble.
Crowley continues to watch him over the years, but keeps his distance while Aziraphale is still young. Aziraphale gets feelings of being watched at times, maybe glimpses of his long lost dragon friend...Series

Aziraphale is a trained warrior that slays monsters. A prophecy says he will once be killed by a monster, but he never has failed a task. He’s summoned by the high priest, and receives the mission to end another one – he vows to protect the land and to kill the monster that endangers the people — who will be revealed to be Crowley.
Aziraphale understands during his time out in the monster’s area that Crowley was simply a thorn into the monarch’s foot, and that Aziraphale had been sent as a mercenary, not as a protector. He understands that Crowley is not the monster, but actually the saviour of the area.

Summary
The Isle of Iona has a guardian angel. An archer had mysteriously appeared in the tiny island's village after the last Viking attack to teach them to defend themselves. But they're craftsmen and shepherds who have never fought before nor can train full-time against possible attacks. Could they survive another raid by the battle-hardened Vikings?
The Vikings have a deity. A serpentine-eyed man-shaped being that accompanied them on raids for good luck. But one Viking leader suspects he's working against their interests and is determined to catch this false god in the act.
Everything comes to a head on Iona, where Crowley encounters Aziraphale. There are no places to hide on the isle's wind-swept hills and grasslands, nor will the archers and swordsmen Aziraphale has trained be able to stand against the might of the Vikings. The village might very well be doomed.

The Bible was filled with errors.
One old scribe argued the Earth was a flat disk, one claimed the fallen angel Lucifer brought about the very first revolution, and one wrote the creature to tempt Eve was a red-bellied snake.
All of which were very incorrect.
While humanity did come to understand the first one to be false, they remained utterly oblivious about the factuality of the last two. You see, the Angel Lucifer did lead the revolution, but the seeds were planted by somebody else. However, only a precious few could recall this information.
In all honesty, Ziraph preferred it that way. Maybe that red-haired angel would be less inclined to smile at him if he knew the truth. Unbeknownst to the demon, Raphael harbored his own secrets.
Or; The Great Fall was a painful memory, for everyone involved.

“Are you here to kill me?” The Gorgon asked in a calm voice, the slight tremor of his clasped hands and the quiet hissing of the snakes coiled against his head and along his neck the only indication of his discomfort. Despite his eyes being covered, he seemed to stare straight through the warrior before him, waiting patiently for an answer with no hint of the violence or malice that Aziraphale had expected.
Aziraphale is a Greek warrior. Crowley is the Gorgon he has been tasked to kill.
