Summary
While visiting the Holts for Christmas dinner, Allura is told about an ancient Earth tradition of keeping a nutcracker on your mantle to ward off evil. Like a great deal about Earth, it's agreed to be just a superstition that's a stubborn holdover from ye olde times.
Until she has a pretty weird dream about said nutcracker... and realizes that Earth is its own special kind of weird.

Of course, this would be true if feelings for Rosa never crawled through her over time, climbing to the one destination that feelings of love tend to rest: her chest where the heart that pumps blood through her lives.

3. His least favorite person Troy Walsh is in the play. And now he's threatening to spill big secrets.
Will the play go over well? Will Mike and Will get together (of course)? Are Troy's threats as empty as they seem? Will just wanted a fun senior year.ALSO: Make sure to check notes on chapters for TWs. It does get a little bit sensitive further in.

"Nick," the woman says. She looks at him, right at him, with an eerie calm that sends shivers down his spine. "Do you think you and Charlie are soulmates?"
"Well, you just said—"
"It doesn't matter what I said. Do you believe, deep down, in your heart of hearts, that you two are meant to be? That you two would find each other in any universe?"
Nick is positive that he'll wake up tomorrow and scoff at the things his brain comes up with when he's tired, heartbroken, and running on fumes and vodka lemonades. He knows all of this means nothing, and the woman in front of him isn't real, and this party isn't real, and none of this is real, and Nick is living in a nightmare. He knows he'll wake up soon.
Still, might as well tell the truth.
"Obviously. Yes."
The woman smiles. "Good. Then prove it."
Or, it's been minutes since Nick and Charlie broke up, and Nick is already desperate enough to use interdimensional time-traveling to fix it. Featuring alternate universes, angst, fluff, a quick stint as enemies-to-lovers, flower shops, Ferris wheels, and a touch of magic.
