Summary
Astarion heard Gale swallow thickly and then he could smell it. Lust. Sweet and fragrant. The wizard's gaze flicked down to his mouth.
All at once everything fell into place.
Of course he wouldn't take him to his bedroom and tell him to strip.
The wizard possessed something Cazador had never had: Manners.
He’d chosen a far more subtle approach that left Astarion the comforting illusion of free will. The trap hadn’t been as crude as food and shelter. No, Astarion had been accruing a far less obvious debt. The library card. The suddenly tuned piano. The bottles of bergamot and rosemary oil that had found a way into his bathroom. The glasses. The ring. A debt he had never agreed to, but still it had built.
Anyone could tell what the wizard wanted in payment.Waterdeep will be many things for Astarion. A place to rest. A place to heal. A place to figure out what the fuck he wants to do with his life now.
It will also be a place of endless frustration with a wizard who refuses to collect on his debts and a stranger he can not keep himself from returning to.
Really, who came up with that anonymity spell anyway? -

Summary
The ranger stopped a few paces ahead, her hands hooked into the straps of her pack. There was movement above, and her eyes shot up to look before she replied. Gaze still in the trees, she said, “There was—something I saw. I came back to look.”
Riveting.
“Nothing dangerous, I hope.”
“No. Just—” She looked at him briefly then turned herself skyward again. “—a bird.”
He blinked at her. “A bird.”
“Yes. A… it doesn’t matter.”
The conversation died there, splayed out in the dirt between them, its mangled corpse a marker of the momentous occasion where Astarion had found himself in agreement with the ranger for the first time: it doesn’t matter. He wondered for what must have been the millionth time what he had done in a past life to deserve this.
Essentially: I took the "I didn't like you when we first met" line and ran with it.

Summary
“Ignore the wizard. He was speaking in hypotheticals. What does he know about performing? It’s…”
Av’ril tilts her head. “It’s what?”
“It’s survival, what you did. What you do. Your instinct to… charm your problems away. There was no ‘good’ answer. So - quit loathing yourself for not finding it.” Astarion’s throat is tight. Luckily, he doesn’t need to breathe, so he simply doesn’t until he sucks in enough air to add, “Start loathing Gale instead.”
(or: astarion learns he has more in common with av'ril than he'd hoped)

Summary
What if the person who helped make Astarion into an at least semi-functional person was just suddenly... gone? What would he do then?
This is a post-canon exploration of just that!
It starts off not that long after the victory over the brain, sadly Karlach flipped a soul coin and decided to burn up instead of going on a romantic Avernus trip with Astarion, so now he's trying to figure out how to be a person all on his own.
Shit.
What will Astarion (and I guess the other less important people) left behind do now?
Especially when events conspire to force Astarion to re-examine his feelings about his not-siblings under Cazador and to stop pulling away from his traveling companions. They are only being nice to him because that is what she would want... right?
AKA We see how Astarion becomes the spawn you can meet at the epilogue party, if you did not romance him. Also he gets forced to admit he has FRIENDS. (Eventually.)
You can see the tags, he's not really on his own. This is a good thing, despite how much he whines about it.

Summary
"If you mean to rob me, you are in no luck today, friend," he huffed, wrinkling his nose in disgust. Great. Wonderful. Now one couldn't even wallow in misery without being disturbed.
---
Astarion hadn't meant to find a friend in the weird water woman. Someone who could kill Cazador, maybe. Falling in love after a hundred years under his master seemed even more ridiculous. Alas... -

Summary
After a piece of prey slips through his fingers, Astarion decides to play a longer game to lure in this shiny new victim. It's routine, nothing he hasn't done a hundred times before. But that all changes when Cazador orders his spawn to retrieve a mysterious magical artifact, no matter the cost, with a tantalizing reward promised to whoever succeeds.
For once, Astarion is blessed with a stroke of luck: his shiny new victim is after the same artifact and may be closer to its retrieval than Cazador. Do the hard work of tracking it down himself? Not really Astarion's style. Let his new victim do it and steal the artifact from her at the last moment? Oh, absolutely.

Summary
Astarion thought he'd escaped his past. Then he inherited it.
Summary: When Astarion learns that he has inherited both Cazador's title and his horror show of a palace, Astarion wants to ignore the whole mess in the worst way, but Gale insists they return to Baldur's Gate and do the paperwork to truly rid themselves of the last of Cazador's ugly legacy. However, the house is haunted and has its own agenda for Astarion. Between a bureaucracy more convoluted than the schemes of the Dead Three, corrupt Patriars who want Astarion to step into Cazador's old shoes, and a tax bill large enough to crush Waterdeep, Gale and Astarion learn that Cazador is almost as much trouble dead as he was alive.
Canon Caveats: Plausible as post-canon canon-compliant fic, with some magical realism and exceptions to strict 5e magic rules.

Summary
Ninox Ryrrl, amnesiac dragonborn sorcerer, and a party of other illithid infected victims draw ever closer to Moonrise Towers, the place they have been told holds the key to their infection, and the seat of power of new god, The Absolute. But the trials of the Shadow Cursed Lands, the horrors of Moonrise Towers, the twisted games of a devil, the legacy of the victims hundred years of twisted divine cruelty, and each of their own dark pasts may at last prove to be too much for them.
Ninox snarls and shoves Astarion away from him, hard. The elf stumbles, hitting the wall of the small wash gully with a sickening crack, even as Ninox is scrambling away from him, from it, stumbling over his own feet, falling against the wall of soil and stone, then slipping, stumbling, landing on his chest hard enough the wind leaves him. There’s shouting from somewhere nearby, but Ninox can’t focus on that. He has to get away from Astarion before he does something, before he is -

Summary
The Shadowcurse creeps into undead flesh like frost. Gale applies the most logical solution to save Astarion: full-body contact. For science. Obviously.
Gale can cuddle Astarion warm through their first night in the Shadow-Cursed Lands—but if he thinks he gets to save someone else while planning to sacrifice himself, Astarion has a few objections to make.
Canon compliance: Takes place in Act 2 just after arriving in the Shadow-cursed Lands and is mostly compliant except for the way the shadowcurse works (see notes)

Summary
When the body lunged forward, pressing the mark to the bark of a convenient tree, it was like Astarion could feel his consciousness being left behind. Soft little moans spilled from the mark’s lips as the body skillfully licked and sucked in all the usual places, but thankfully they were muffled, as if he heard them through a dense fog. The body was so well trained that he didn’t even need to keep his hands on the strings anymore for it to perform its function.

Summary
Gale has almost everything he could ever want- a well-funded student position at a prestigious university, a beloved cat, and an astrophysics doctoral advisor who also happens to be his lover. His future as a wildly successful professor is all but assured. He just needs to succeed at presenting his newest analysis at the biggest astrophysics conference on the East Coast, and he'll have the resources to start his own lab and live his dream developing a Theory of Everything.
What he doesn't understand is Mystra's refusal to let him branch into quantum physics. He's certain, though, that she'll come around once he proves his abilities in the field.
And what does the mysterious, charming, and possibly insane man that just moved into his spare bedroom have to do with all this, anyway?

Summary
Between the beats of Tav’s heart, the world winked from existence. Astarion lurched in confusion, clawing at his own throat when he realized that he couldn’t hear himself scream. He could feel someone’s grip squeeze his wrist painfully tight. They tugged him towards some random direction, and he tripped over his own feet, tumbling to the ground.
Five years post-game. While headed to Gale’s tower, Astarion is cursed by a vicious spell that sends him reeling. Tav is immediately captured by the mysterious woman who cast it--someone angry and powerful, with a vendetta against them both. Blind, deafened, and terrified, Astarion soon finds himself caught up in the throes of a vast conspiracy that involves his haunting past, the Urge’s many sins, and the very future of Waterdeep.
(Meanwhile, Gale has problems of his own...)

Summary

Summary
Midwinter with his father had always seemed so magical when he was a boy. The city full of lights, the manor decked to the nines in decor. Feasts and balls, markets and gifts. It might be nice to experience that again. To meet back up with the extended family he hadn't seen in nearly a decade now and stopped considering reaching out to. It would be even nicer to share it with Astarion.
Or Wyll and Astarion face their first Midwinter in Toril since Wyll and Ulder's reunion.
