Summary
Across all of the gameboards which Rika had the *pleasure* of playing: there are three rules: being X, Y and Z. However, It wouldn't be ridiculous to claim an unofficial rule exists: being that Satoshi Houjou and Keiichi Maebara can never co-exist within the same space. So when Keiichi screws up and transfers a year earlier instead it comes as a great surprise.
Of course, it would be naive to think that this would change much.
