Beidou is a mess, Ningguang realizes, when she’s finally adjusted to the light streaming through the window. Her hair is fully down, missing the pin Ningguang gifted her before she left; she’s got a bit of blood on her lip and a new scabbing cut over her shoulder and her cheek is beginning to yellow with an old bruise.
But in the early morning light, with the horizon behind her and her squinting smile, she’s home–and she’s radiant despite it all. Beautiful, all glowing skin beneath blooming bruises and cherry red lips and silky hair falling over her shoulders. She shines brighter than the sun that rises behind her.

“Holy fuck, Ning, this is some good fucking pizza – how are you running this place?”
Ningguang raises an eyebrow and watches Beidou carefully as she makes her way towards her desk, “Like… any other manager would?”
Beidou licks her fingers clean before slamming her hands down on the table – Ningguang jumps slightly, “Well it’s fucking good!”

"Are you aware you've hired a degenerate?" Beidou hisses. "She's spoken to me about your figure, about your attire, even how you look while exiting the bath! Does it not bother you?"
"Why do you ask? Does it bother you?" Ningguang asks slowly, almost tauntingly.
Beidou snaps her mouth shut and leans heavily back in the seat. Ningguang hadn't realized that she had tilted forward until the weighty movement. "Of course not. I have no claim or vested interest in the matter, no?"
She hums. "I suppose you do not. What do you suggest I do, then? Fire her? Find another person who is devoted enough to me that I can trust them with the goings-on of the Jade Chamber?"
A muscle ticks in Beidou's jaw. "If it's devotion you want, then you don't need to look much further," she says heatedly.
After an injury, Ningguang invites Beidou into the Jade Chamber to recuperate. Beidou doesn't leave. Ningguang doesn't kick her out.

“That’s no way to talk to a lady.” Ningguang takes a step forward and risks letting go of her scrolls with one hand to jab a manicured nail against the sailor’s chest. She’s not a lady yet, but she will be, and the sailor would hardly know if she was the fucking Tianquan of the Qixing.
The sailor smiles lazily down at the accusing finger, then back at Ningguang. “I think I know how to talk to a lady,” she drawls, voice dropping to something low in her throat that makes a stupid warmth pool below Ningguang’s stomach. She places a calloused hand over Ningguang’s and moves it back to Ningguang’s side, then bends at her waist so that she’s eye level with Ningguang. “And between me and you, I don’t think you are one.”

(I literally typed this whole thing on my phone during loadshedding so sorry for any grammar/spelling issues. Because of the appalling lack of Beiguang fics I could personally enjoy, I felt compelled to write my own. Why did I write this instead of continuing either of my two unfinished fics? I don't know. Anyways, I'm tired, don't know if this is any good, and I don't really read or write smut so who knows if that's any good.)

Beidou pushed her lover backwards, pressing her back to the wall beside the bedroom door. Ningguang regarded her through half-lidded eyes, a lazy smile on her lips.
“Archons, woman.” Beidou muttered, still unbelieving of the way this slip of a thing had her nearly on her knees. She pressed her lips to Ningguang’s, the length of their bodies flush as they moved against each other. Unable to wait any longer, she slipped her tongue into the Tianquan’s mouth, sliding it over the ridges of her teeth, murmuring a sound of pleasure when Ningguang’s tongue pushed back. She carded her hand through Beidou’s thick brown hair, tugging it gently and digging her fingers in.
“Are we going to stand outside all night, or shall we go in?”

Beidou’s away a lot with her crew, but her mind is constantly on her beloved Tianquan. When her feet finally touch on land, the first thing she does is abandon the ground again, this time in favor of the sky, in the Jade Chamber, in Ningguang’s arms— and in her bed. -
