The sight should be warming, an auspicious sighting particularly on a wedding day and yet Akemi finds herself suddenly rueful. Ash from the shrine lingers on her wedding kimono, the scent overpowering even now as they kneel for the banquet for their honour. Something shy of conflict had flickered across her betrothed face as they had recited the marriage rites. A haunted fear to his eye when he’d locked eyes with her briefly, those amber glasses on his face even now. For a man who had no doubt slaughtered many men, Akemi can’t help but ponder why a marriage ceremony would be the thing that weakened him.

Autumn, 1878
When Alina Florence goes off to Ireland from England to see her cousin in hopes to travel the world with her family, a storm rushes in, taking her under the depths of the sea, completely unknown if she'll survive.
Rescued by a creature of the North Atlantic, Dorian Ayres, he gives Alina a place to stay within an undersea manor that he calls home-- Cerulean Hall.
Cerulean Hall is a ghastly sight to behold, rapidly decaying at every step Alina takes. There's a chill coming from the east wing of the manor, and tempting whispers from the west wing-- both locked with mystery as Dorian keeps the keys tightly within his claws. As one door opens for Alina, another closes with the intent on forcing Alina out.
As more secrets unravel with each discovery in the undersea manor and the other inhabitants that reside there, Alina has to make a choice:
Break the curse, or become a new part of it....
Alina will go on a journey of love and survival as she tries to find the witch and break the binding contract and the curse set upon Dorian before his fate is permanently sealed.
