Summary
During a seemingly routine mission, young Padawan Anakin Skywalker falls into the hands of the Sith. What follows is a brutal descent into the shadows: physical torture, mental manipulation and an aberrant experiment that leaves him with an indelible mark... and an unwanted pregnancy.
When he is finally rescued by his master and Qui-Gon Jinn, there is no trace of the impulsive and defiant apprentice he used to be. In his place, the Jedi find a broken young man, shrouded in icy silence and an empty stare. As the Council debates Anakin's uncertain fate - and the being he now carries within him - he must face the most difficult question of all: can he heal and trust again... or has the darkness already taken root too deeply?
