Please read the tags, there is a lot of very sensitive content in this fic! Also be aware that it is unfinished. I may pick it up in the future, but as for right now, I am posting what I had written a year or so ago, since I had never posted it originally.
Kurt Hummel returns to school in October after his father did not survive a heart attack in August. Blaine Anderson transfers to McKinley High after a bullying incident at a previous school. Because of this, he has lost his courage and is back in the closet. While Blaine tries to return to a normal life and make some friends at school, Kurt attempts to shut himself off from everyone he knows and loves, rarely engaging with anyone but his acquaintance, sexual partner, and coping mechanism: Puck, of all people. When Kurt and Blaine begin to notice each other, though, their lives start to change.

"I won't sing at your funeral," Blaine mutters, not bothering to meet the boy's eyes, afraid that if he looked too deeply into the mess of purple and blue surrounding them, that he would fall in. The hospital smells stale. Not like any he's been in before. It doesn't smell like medicine, or antiseptic spray, or even the metallic lick of blood. It smells like mold and tears. "I won't."
"I'm not going to die," Kurt chews on those words, savoring the bitter taste on his tongue. He almost laughs.
"At this rate," The Warbler mumbles, "You will. And I stand by what I said. I will not sing at your funeral."
Or: Karofsky does more than just kiss Kurt in the locker room, and now Kurt has to deal with the aftermath while also juggling school, Glee and friends. It doesn't help that Karofsky's rain of terror isn't exclusive to the locker room.

Summary: Kurt comes back from New York a broken, sobbing mess, claiming that he’s constantly stressed, no longer knows what he wants to do, and hates Rachel. Luckily, Blaine is there to pick up the pieces and help rebuild Kurt.
Takes place in Season 4, probably a month after Kurt started at NYADA, so maybe at the end of January. But at this point, Rachel is already rehearsing for Funny Girl and already dropped out of NYADA.
I swear Blaine is in this, he just doesn’t come in until halfway through!

We get to follow along with Kurt's struggle to fit in despite his appearance as well as his struggle to accept that his mother is Mystique. It's also how Kurt was able to accept who he was and who he was meant to be.
But it's also the 5 times people caught Kurt singing and the one time he sang in front of everyone.

Blaine wants the popular football player and Glee Club member, Sam Evans.
When Kurt takes up the bet that he can't make Blaine popular, Kurt promises to help Blaine get together with Sam by the end of junior year. However, throughout the year, Blaine and Kurt grow closer than expected and open up about things they never thought they'd ever tell anyone.
