After Chuck’s defeat, Sam thought things would finally settle. He thought he’d have his brother, a chance at peace, maybe even time to grieve the ones they lost. But Dean’s silence about Castiel’s death is a weight Sam can’t shake, no matter how many times he tries to pry answers from him. Then, in one heartbeat, Dean’s life is slipping away in a barn, and Castiel, human, fragile, impossibly alive, is standing there again. Sam should be relieved. He should be grateful. Instead, all he feels is confusion, hurt, and a quiet fear he can’t name. Because if Cas is back, if Dean is alive, then why does it still feel like something between them is broken?

The bond forces Dean and Cas to navigate new waters, as they can now see into each other’s minds and feel what the other feels. Grace sex between Dean’s soul and Cas’s grace becomes a new normal in the couple’s lives, until it causes something they never thought possible...

They were supposed to be neutral, but according to Cas, they're dangerous. He's concerned, and the brothers aren't sure they can work the case alone.
This takes place post BMoL, but it's a bit canon-divergent from that, since Eileen and Cas are still alive and Cas has his wings because I can't bear to write him without them. This is the first in a series.

Dean is uncertain what Amara's meaning is when she brings John back, and struggles with coming to terms with the new family dynamic. Sam tries harder to keep the peace than he used to, and Cas does not get along with John at all- though he tries. Testosterone is at an all-time high as these four men struggle to coexist in the hunting world with very different ideologies.
We explore just how much the brothers have changed in the ten years without their father's guidance, the trauma they still haven't resolved, and the feelings that Dean and Cas hold for one another despite the very real and new barrier that is John.

They weren't strangers to kinky sex. It was fun, they liked to switch things up. Try new things. But they haven't done anything in public together.

Feeling betrayed, Dean leaves the bunker and he seeks comfort in the embrace of a former lover.

The spirit turns, and the hold on Eileen immediately loosens. She falls to the ground, knees buckling, and sucks in gasps of air. Sam appears at her side, hands smoothing over every inch of her. When he finds nothing wrong, he helps her to her feet, hands steadying her by the elbows.
The spirit’s eyes clear, watching them, and it’s only then that Eileen lets Sam take her full weight.
Finally, the spirit—Jess, because it is Jess now—says, “Sam?”
Eight months after they save the world, Eileen meets Jess.
