Summary
Team is used to getting second place. His whole life, he’s gone for silver, leaving the gold for P’Ton—and that’s how it should be, he knows. Ton is everything Team isn’t, perfect and smart and put-together, and it’s only right that Team gets whatever’s left in Ton’s wake: awards, clothes, parental approval, even love. Team understands all too well that there’s nothing that’s truly his, nothing he gets to keep for himself… except perhaps an all-encompassing sense of panic.
Win should have died when he was ten years old. Instead, he crawled out of the ocean alive and alone, haunted by the brother he couldn’t save. Now, as an adult, Win does everything in his power to be sure he never lets anyone down ever again, but he knows it’s only a matter of time. After all, beneath his tattoos and his usefulness and his charming persona, Win is well aware he’s nothing but a broken husk, plagued by nightmares and undeserving of love.
