Summary
Vesta Plinth loved her husband. She did, truly. If she didn't, she would have left him a long time ago. But she was also aware, she knew the kind of man Strabo was, and she knew he wasn't a good person. There was no love or adoration in the world that blinded her to that fact. She looked at Coriolanus Snow and saw a mirror she didn't want to see. She looked at the boy Sejanus spoke of so fondly and saw the same gestures, the same mannerisms, the same unbridled ambition. Vesta was afraid. She was afraid her son would collect the same regrets as her.
Or: a character study about Ma Plinth, about prayers answered by the mountains of District 2, and about unbroken cycles.
