Summary
Damien had been struggling to stay out of his little headspace (without much success) all morning, and eventually in frustration admits it’s a losing battle and comes to find you. You’d like nothing more than to whisk him out of there immediately, but you can’t do that yet. After a bit of comfort, you send him off to masquerade the rest of the workday away.
Mark would never begrudge Damien time with you, but… now he’s fighting headspace, as he’d really prefer to join the two of you and can’t. Or, he thinks he can’t — but really, getting upset over it is not doing him any favors, so Ben talks some sense into him and helps you take care of both boys for the evening.
