For a moment, Nico seemed to brace himself, before saying: “You’ve…lost siblings, haven’t you?”
Will’s stomach dropped to his feet, but he nodded. He didn’t like talking about it, but he’d seen far too many of his siblings die over the years. He and his living siblings joked that the Apollo cabin was cursed—hardly anyone made it longer than two years.
Except for Will.
“Does it…um…” Nico tugged a chunk of his hair. “Does it get easier? This uh…feeling, I mean.”
Will took the needle out of his mouth, setting it, the spool of thread, and the shroud aside.
“Yes, and no,” he said.
