He was given the same curse as Hohenheim. Half of the souls -- souls of his friends, family, of his country -- shoved inside of his body like a worm hidden inside an apple.
He needed it out. It needed to be ripped out.
Time passed, the world aged. He remained the same. Wallowing in grief.
He needed to fix things.

Accidently wrote two completely different versions branching from the same snippet, so both this fic and another fic start with the same first chapter but branch out into two wildly different things.
