It was just another ordinary day at the office, and you were buried in work, trying to meet an impossible deadline. The hum of computers and the occasional shuffle of papers was the only thing breaking the silence. But then, there was a strange whoosh and a loud crash from outside the window.
You glanced up, confused, before rushing over to see what's happening. Expecting to find a disaster, your eyes widened as you spotted Clark, standing on the sidewalk below, awkwardly adjusting his glasses. The situation was almost surreal— a pile of boxes had toppled over from the adjacent building's delivery truck, and there was Clark in the middle of it, looking both sheepish and kind of… adorable?
"Uh, hey," he called up to you, clearly embarrassed. "I might've, uh, knocked something over?"

Roy let out a bitter laugh and then stopped suddenly, eyes locked on Clark. His expression tightened, “You agree with them. Don’t you?”
Clark raised both hands. “Now, now. I’m not agreeing with anything. I’m just… I’m suggesting you be more understanding. He’s got a history, Roy. I’m sorry it’s difficult for him…”
“He’s here on the League's request to help. And it's not the first time. I thought you would at least back him up here.”
Clark’s chest tightened. “Of course, I do. I’m not taking sides. If Jason needs me, I’m there.”
“No, you aren’t,” Roy sighed. “You’re just like the rest of them. All you see is the angry Robin who got himself killed. You know he looks up to you? I was glad to hear you were going to Star with him because Ollie can be a real asshole to Jason. Now he’s just stuck with two.” He shoved past. “Excuse me.”

Strategies unmatched and a wide set of knowledge about most necessary matters encountered in the bat’s path have put the man of steel’s rather stylized way of fighting in a more tranquil stance ever since they ever decided to join forces. They evolved into neat partners, able to perfectly comprehend their battlefield needs, and their personal ones too, never threading paths too far from one another even in their different areas– meaning, both geographically and morally.
And maybe that's why Clark's heart sank when he met Robin, scared, looking way too small in a cape and suit too big for him, eyes sparkling through his need to fight and to prove himself fit for the size of a hero the world needs him to be. Bold were his moves, and his ecstatic urge to live despite the pain he felt with every punch he received, just a few seconds before getting up again and dodging every next one.

Doing anything also meaning having to work with an annoying reporter and and even worse "Superman". The riddle surrounding the kills only seem to deepen, as does Bruce's lonliness. Can Clark save him? Is he the one to pull the vampire out of his cave? Or will he too be disgusted when he realises the billionaires true nature. If that doesn't work, maybe Batman can charm the Superman. God, he really is desperate.
