But he did find the traveler's companion next to a blond man who was desperately trying to free himself from ropes binding his hands behind his back.

Morax regards her evenly, crossing one leg over the other. "I expect you to carry out any orders given to you during your stay there, regardless of what occurs. Do you understand, Ying?"
The deity stifles a growl before placing a hand on her chest, necklace clicking together as she moves. "Yes, Morax."

Aether, however, just blankly stares at the Anemo Archon, not uttering a word. Venti is a bit unsettled by the lack of expression.
“Are you sure you don’t know where my sister is? Or about the Abyss Order?” Aether asked still staring at Venti
“Aether, I promise you… If I knew anything about where she could be, I would have told you already.”
But Aether has already shrugged off the hand on his shoulder and is halfway to the door before Venti was finished. He tried to call out to the traveler, but the bard was ignored as Aether stormed out. Venti looked over to an equally concerned Diluc.
“Did he say anything to you?” Venti asked hesitantly.
Diluc shook his head as he cleaned a wine glass, “He’s been pretty out of it since he got here, but I’m sure you noticed that. He only mumbled about some things I couldn’t piece together.”
“He’s been with Dainsleif all week, he probably said something to-”
“Aether was with Dainsleif?” the bard interrupted, “Did Aether say why or what they were doing?”

When Venti started seeing other guys, Xiao let him go, demanding he doesn’t have a leash tied onto Venti’s neck; that he doesn’t own him. Only to know that Venti has been hinting he does that the whole time.
Or an au in which Xiao is as dense as fuck that it took Venti to date guys he didn’t have any interest on just so Xiao can snap back to the reality that Venti is madly, and deeply in love with him.
