Summary
This is a sequel to the previous work in the series, Premeditation, that runs concurrent to that fic for the first couple chapters.
Jason Todd knows Gotham - it's in his bones, in the air of his lungs, in the muscle memory he uses to carry him home at the end of a long night.
The Joker has been part of Gotham for a long time. Jason grew up with that. Jason died by that. Every moment of his rebirth, he's known that his once-murder is out there. A threat, even when the monster is caged.
... Who is Jason Todd, then, when that threat is ... gone?
(He'll never be what he was, what he could have been - but sometimes... sometimes, you have to lay those old dreams to rest, and accept that ghosts aren't always bad things to have around...)
