Summary
Octavo starts hearing a voice that is oddly familiar to his, and all of a sudden he's analyzing those he trusts for threats. He's scared, and there's ONE solution that just might work. It's permanent. He'll never hurt anybody again.
“Oh, don’t lie to me, Link. I know it’s what you think.”
“No, that’s what you think.”
Octavo goes quiet. Link’s right, but it’s weird to be called out like that. Octavo pulls back.
“But-”
“No buts, that’s what you’re telling yourself.”
“No, I, you don’t-”
“No. You’re making stuff up, and I understand a lot has happened-”
“You don’t know HALF of what happened to me!” he snaps. Link finally moves back, and his eyes narrow.
Octavo doesn’t move. He doesn’t make a sound.
