“Why don’t you have any, then?” Before Perkins can answer, Addy continues, amused, “are you afraid of needles?”
Perkins lets out a true bark of laughter – it doesn’t sound particularly harmonious. “Hell no. But tattoos are memorable.”
Addy snorts, “you’re memorable even without them.”
Perkins gets her hands on her waist and Addy gets with the program, twists so they’re face to face. Perkins has a smile playing around her lips, but there’s still that dangerous glint to her. Addy isn’t afraid; not because she doesn’t think Perkins would hurt her, but because she’s met worse."
