James' life is not at all what he had always imagined it to be. Back in highschool he always thought he'd be something. Somethign big and glorious. His life was supposed to be perfect. He was supposed to go to college on a scholarship for his football skills. he was supposed to marry Lily Evans and start a family with her. He was supposed to be just how he and everyone around him always thought he'd be. He thought he had done everything to ensure it.
Now, however, at 22 he found himself as a college dropout, with a boring unfulfilling job. He isn't with Lily any more. She was in love with someone else. Her best friend. And James is just stuck.
His life seems destined to continue in one long cycle of nothingness but it's all interrupted when he's dragged along to a concert and finds none other than Regulus Black on stage, a boy James remembers all too clearly. The boy who's heart he broke. Regulus is singing a song that James finds is a little too personal and suddenly Regulus' eyes are on his, having located him in the crowd easily, and he does not look happy to see him again.
