Summary
When Draco Malfoy was sorted into Gryffindor he was shunned by his old friends and his father for being in the house of ‘blood traitors and mudbloods’. Luckily he was able to placate his father with a well worded letter, after all what was more slytherin than being a gryffindor? Sadly, his old allies were not so easy to convince.
He was, unfortunately, also an outcast from his own house for being from a traditionally dark family. A dark blood purist family. That had fought for Voldemort. Yeah, so no luck on the friends front then. Being as lonely as he was, was it really a surprise when he noticed the other outcast of gryffindor house? Hermione Granger was an intelligent young witch, and she was starting to change Draco’s misconceptions about Muggles and Muggleborns.
Suddenly he finds himself sitting next to her in class and studying at the same table as each other in the library. They don't talk to each other much though, she never mentioned it and so neither did he. But they both stopped feeling so alone. And really that's all that mattered, until one day a throwaway comment from Weasley changed everything...
