He hadn’t been expecting to hear a “Mieczyslaw!” from a loud voice as soon as he and most of the pack enter the ballroom of the Beverly Hills Four Seasons.
Stiles turns toward the voice and sees the crowd moving quickly out of the way of a pale woman in a beaded black dress with long, braided black hair and black lipstick. Stiles stares for a moment in surprise, then throws up a shield as his cousin throws an ornate dagger right at him. He can feel the pack tense behind him, ready to strike, but then he’s dropping the shield and hugging her. And dodging another dagger. He can hear Peter’s rumbling growl behind him, but he waves a hand over his shoulder, letting the pack know he’s fine.

Stiles sighs, unlocking his phone. It’s 4:00 a.m. and this isn’t a call he wants to make, but between a lot of bad options, this one sucks the least. He presses call and waits for Peter’s grumpy growl.
“What do you want?” Peter’s voice is a displeased rumble.
"Where's your body dump?" Stiles asks.
"What?" Peter already sounds more awake.
"I know you have one, cough it up," Stiles says.
"I have no idea what you're talking about. I don't - "
"Oh my god, don't bullshit a bullshitter, come on. You fucked up my old one, you asshole," Stiles says.

"Ah!" Stiles cuts him off, scooting closer to the wooden bars that seemingly make up his prison, "No! You're both here for a reason, okay? Don't be a speciest bigot, Chris, you're the best of a bad lot, I expect you to act like it," Chris is shocked to actually feel chastened, he puts his gun back in his waistband, "And Peter, you are smart enough to ask questions first. Sane enough, too, might I add."
"Well, then," Peter says, still glaring, and Chris wonders how this boy all dolled up in a dress, knows all this about them. "I suppose my first question would be: Why did you invite a Hunter to join us, hmm?"
"Same reason I asked you to join me, Peter," Stiles answers, and doesn't even bother hiding how coy he's being, "I'm lonely. I wanted people to talk to, and I wanted said people, specifically, to be useful to a certain cause, later."
"And what cause would that be?" Chris asks, wary.
"That," Stiles beams, "is a secret."
[Or: The one where there's a boy in a dress, a werewolf, and a hunter. It sounds like the beginning of a joke, but it's all fairly serious business... Mostly.]
