Summary
Gregory Edgeworth is a smart man, one who knew just as well as many others that the situation they were currently in was not exactly normal. He was alone in his room, on his bed, laying nearly on top of a work friend after a long day of reviewing a case. Gregory Egdeworth was a smart man, and being smart meant many things but it also meant that he did not particularly care about the situation they were currently in. On the contrary really, after all this was becoming a normal occurrence.
Though to explain why, and how, the nights alone on the couch had turned into the two sharing Gregory's double bed, and then into them cuddling before going to sleep was… a different story entirely. One that he could explain with logic and sense if you asked, there was no doubt about that. He would also just need a few minutes to think of a good way to explain it without making it sound unsavory to people who were unaware of their respective lines of work.

Though, the more he thought about it while walking through the halls, the more he realized he tended to forget things in the winter.
It was just another normal day, it was just a nice surprise, nothing more. It was nothing more than a gift, a nice gesture from his wife, it had to be.

His voice sounds hoarse. Scratchy.

"Are you sure it will hold?" Dorian asks skeptically, a hint of worry in his voice.
Orym pulls the rope with two fingers experimentally and smiles at him. "It will," he says.
"That's a lot of weight," Dorian says, still not looking convinced.
Orym shrugs. "It held Ashton suspended for an hour and they're made of rock, I'm sure a wooden crate isn't heavier than that"
Dorian feels his brain short-circuit, and Ashton lifts their hammer from the floor near the entrance. "I'll go stand guard outside 'cause this is awkward," they say with a squint, before disappearing down the hallway.

And Dorian, eloquent as the royal family member he is, has the decency to look lost for a moment before he nods with vigor. Ashton moves to the side to let Dorian in.
"Safe word's "Bertrand" then."
