After her mother tells her she's going to send her to live with her aunt after what she and her friends had dubbed "the hole incident" a fifteen year old girl runs off into the woods surrounding her town to make one last wish using the well in a clearing her grandmother showed her she ends up be sucked into a fantasy world were humans had all died out. Now she has to find a way home with the help a centaur with a overly positive attitude and a elf who seems to have made it his job to make sure his sister doesn't get herself killed (plus there two adult chaperones)
