Solas smirked, mirthlessly, and shook his head. "Tell me, truly, what difference does that make to them?" His voice was kinder than she expected. She forced herself to listen. He looked at the mark and it sputtered under his gaze. "I am sorry, Enaste." Deep sympathy etched his voice, and when he let go of her hand, she wished he hadn't. "You should not have to bear this burden." Their eyes met, and she lost every word she'd ever known.
A long, heavy moment passed between them. She had a sudden urge to pull him close, to feel his body against hers. He was broad, for an elf, and would surely overwhelm her. His lips were soft and full. How would it feel to kiss him? Would he kiss her back?
An Inquisition fic following Enaste Lavellan, a very normal woman who makes great decisions, gets a regular amount of sleep, and is fun and easy to be around. Contains sensitive subject matter, viewer discretion is advised.

Or she was dead, anyway. She's better now. Not that she has any idea what's going on, or why she can hear a goddess's voice in her head, or who the handsome elf following her around is.
Sort-of stand-alone sequel to The Lioness and the Wolf. Like you'll probably get what's going on, but it'll be easier if you read that story first. This story takes place after the Veil is destroyed, and therefore contains a lot of speculation and fun wildlife.
