Summary
The liquid went from pearly white to iridescent, swirling like molten opal. A single wisp of steam rose and drifted between them. Draco caught it before he could brace for it—broom polish, crisp green apples, and something else. Something maddeningly familiar: jasmine and a soft curl of vanilla, light but persistent, the kind of scent that clung and refused to leave once noticed.
His breath hitched. He froze.

This couldn’t be happening. Of all the idiotic, impossible people—
Slughorn’s Amortentia lesson was meant to be harmless. A simple potion, a few innocent scents, nothing more.
But when Draco Malfoy catches a whiff of jasmine and vanilla, everything he’s buried beneath duty and disgust begins to unravel.
He tells himself it’s only the potion’s haze—until he realises the scent clings to Hermione Granger’s hair, and that whatever lingers in the air between them has been there far longer than either of them is willing to admit.
