“Oi, Shitty Dazai, open up!” he called through the wood, not pausing in the pounding of his fist against the wood.
Although that noise could have just been the pounding of Dazai's head as he dragged himself up off of the couch to let him in. He knew from experience that he wouldn't be getting any peace until he opened up.
Wrapped in yesterday's clothes and the day before's bandages, Dazai knew that he looked like a mess. This fact was confirmed when Chuuya's face fell from its angry scrunch and right into a worried frown as soon as the door cracked open.
He didn't say another word though, pushing through the doorway in a way that would look violent from the outside, but allowed him to get past Dazai without so much as brushing his arm.
As soon as the door shut behind him, the facade of anger was completely gone.
“Hey, you doing okay? The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

“Ken, we're home! Why did you leave your shoes on the front porch?” A woman's voice rang out, snapping Ken and Momo out of their spell. They can distantly hear keys clattering down on the table and suitcases being rolled in.
“Ken, why does the house smell like something died in it?” A man hollers. “Did you forget to take the garbage out or something?”
A look of complete terror washes over Ken's face, and his face turns ghostly white.
“They're not supposed to be home until next week.” He loudly whispers. He scrambles off his bed, puts on his glasses, and throws on his discarded shirt. “You gotta leave right now, Miss Ayase!”

BEWARE: Manga spoilers through chapter 182!!
A post-canon, canon divergent story. Momo is back to normal, and Ken never said those very important words.
Starts the Friday before Christmas 2024 and ends on White Day 2025. There will be four chapters to this fic, and I hope to post the last one on or right around White Day :) I focused on a softer side of Momo, the one that can sometimes come out when she spends time one-on-one with people. I hope you like it!
