Summary
Jungkook is smart for his age. He knows this. His Daddy said so. He can see things beyond the mask and hear the truth under lies. It scares his Appa how smart he is that Jungkook decides to stay quiet with his observations.
“Heeyeon nana,” he whispers over his nanny’s story. They were reading The Great Gilly Hopkins that Jungkook got from his Uncle Namjoon.
Heeyeon smiles at him, tucking the boy in her arms. “Yes, Kookie?”
“Do Daddy and Appa love each other?” he innocently asks.
Heeyeon still has the smile but Jungkook could see the confusion swimming in her eyes. “Why yes, of course.”
That is a lie. Like the marriage photos of his parents in the living room or the family picture they took during Jungkook’s first birthday.
Everything is a lie and for the first time, Jungkook realizes that he is not the only one staying quiet with their observations.

Summary
The unfamiliar young werewolf has been joyfully nuzzling against Yoongi's shoulder for at last fifteen minutes when Jin steps in, apologetic expression on his beautiful features as he sees the stiff way Yoongi is frozen within Jungkook’s embrace.
“I love you.” Jungkook declares emphatically again, beaming at Yoongi. “I love you.”
“Oh, Jungkook.” Jin sighs, shaking his head.
In the end, Jin has to forcibly pry Jungkook off of Yoongi, and Jungkook bursts into tears as Yoongi stares, absolutely bewildered. Jin is embarrassed as he explains that new werewolves who’ve been in traumatic situations at the time of the bite will sometimes latch onto a safe scent for the first few weeks until their inner wolf settles. Jin promises he’ll keep an eye on Jungkook, apologizes again, and wrestles a crying Jungkook out the door. And Jin is responsible and dedicated to the wolves he takes in, so Yoongi doesn’t worry about it any further.
But the very next day, when Yoongi unlatches the front doors, he turns to see Jungkook standing in the doorway, big eyes lighting up when he spots Yoongi, dashing across the room to dive into his arms and beam up at him.

“Hyung we have to at least pretend that we’re happy there,” Jungkook said, “I don’t want Jimin hyungs and Taehyung hyungs wedding to be tainted with our drama.”
Jin put his phone away, sighing as he did, “What do you want me to do, Jungkook? Pretend like we’re in this perfect, happy marriage?”
“It’s just for a few days,” Jungkook tried to reason with him, “We don’t even have to do much. Maybe a smile here and there, hold hands a couple of times, and sleep in the same room. The only thing we can’t do is fight. This whole trip is meant for us to celebrate love, not ruin it. When we come back, we’ll sign the papers and then you won't have to see me ever again.”
"And you? Would you be pretending too?"
Jungkook smiled ever so slightly, “I’ve been pretending like I’ve been happy for a while, hyung. This is second nature for me.”
