Summary
Peace has become delicate in New York City. With vampire attacks increasing, the laws that ensure a safe co-existence between humans and vampires are more fragile than ever. Summary
After dropping out of school, Clay (affectionately named ‘Dream’ by his coworkers) has been living on the Sosoni Flats for years now, a cattle ranch in the middle of nowhere Nevada, with no plans of leaving. Unofficially adopted by the owner of the ranch, Dream has spent years at Sosoni Flats and assumes this summer will be no different. Plans derail when the ranch head’s stuck up nephew, George, comes to stay at the ranch for the summer and causes trouble within mere hours of being on the range. George was born without a second gender, apparently.
Not that it matters much to him, it's not like he's missing out on a whole lot.
Sure, he'd like to be able to smell Dream's scent; to know him on that one deeper level that he simply can't access, but it's fine! He's just George and it's fine!
He can still pine after Dream wistfully without a second gender. He can still be hopelessly and helplessly in love. It's not like Dream's ever not been there for George when he needs him.
However, does that still apply when George gets sick in the most unexpected way possible?
Or; George is a late bloomer and that makes already messy feelings between him and Dream even more difficult to navigate.
