Alec sighs. “Look, Izzy. I– I can’t just leave him, okay? The lie was already said, and you didn’t see his reaction earlier. He was so relieved and comforted to have a loving boyfriend taking care of him. I can’t take that away from him in his vulnerable state. I’ll just pretend until his memories come back.”
“And what if they don’t?”
“The doctor is positive that the amnesia is just temporary. Besides, his eyes will be uncovered in about four to five weeks, so regardless, he’ll be able to find out the truth by then.”
“And what would you tell him then?”
Alec sighs again, his head beginning to ache. “I don’t know. I’ll think about it. But for now, he’s relieved and happy. And Izzy, I… I want to finally live before I die. To be reckless. To be happy. To love and be loved."
Or, Alec saves a stranger and falls in love, thinking it will be temporary… And ends up with forever.

The prince stuttered and trailed off, staring at Magnus with wide, frightened eyes that, to the warlock's utmost horror, filled with tears in a second. He didn't have the time to ask what was wrong though, because the boy took a breath and then blurted out:
