Inej laughed, a melodic, tinkling sound, like the Christmas bells that rang out from the chapel for midnight mass. Kaz was still yet to find a jar strong enough to go hold it.

Kaz watches Inej skate (in a not creepy way, he swears), and she invites him to join her. The only problem is, well, he can’t skate.
Not a modern AU, I’m sure they had ice skates whenever six of crows was roughly set (I did no research). Also what fits Inej more perfectly than LITERAL KNIFE SHOES idk I just feel like she’d slay at figure skating. Anyways, enjoy! (Or don’t, free will exists for now so you do you)

This has now become just a regular collection of Christmas fics. I severely overestimated my abilities here, but I’ll still try to have one for every day of advent, even if it takes a few years. I have ideas, but also seasonal depression. Yippee?

Beer in hand, he turned toward the densest part of the crowd – only to realize they were gathered around a mechanical bull. Just as someone queued up Blondie’s "One Way or Another" on the jukebox, a voice cut through the noise like a spur to the ribs:
"Told y’all I ride better than that dumbass!" Padfoot’s drawl was unmistakable, even over Debbie Harry’s opening riff. "Time to put my money where my mouth is."
Remus pushed through the crowd to the fenced-off area where mats surrounded a massive mechanical bull, currently swaying gently back and forth. Astride it sat the rodeo host from earlier, still in his showman's outfit – though now barefoot. For some reason, those pale, narrow feet pressing against the sides of the mechanical beast looked both vulnerable and unbearably erotic. And damn if Remus hadn't just discovered he might have a foot fetish after all.
Not that he should be imagining those feet hooked over his shoulders – that kind of scenario was beyond impossible for him.

Unfortunately Eddie's heart didn't get the memo on the 'fake' part of the deal, while the more time he spends with Steve the deeper he falls, the closer he gets to something that looks a whole lot darker than a college student just trying to pay off his student loans.
“For you, your highness.” Eddie bent at the waist as he offered the cheap stuffed animal.
Steve’s eyes went wide, but he accepted the little stuffed animal, holding it up for inspection. Some of the stitches were visible and his eyes were lopsided, but it didn’t change the way Eddie’s heart stuttered as Steve very gently touched its nose against his own, holding it like it were an actual small creature and not cotton and thread.
“What’s his name?”
“Bernard,” Steve said with such confidence that Eddie couldn’t help laughing.
“What?” Steve said, looking mildly affronted.
Eddie grinned. “No, it’s a great name, Bernard the Bat. Berry for short even.”
Steve crossed his arms, but with the stuffed animal it looked more like he was hugging it to his chest.
“Slushies?” Eddie said before he could do anything stupid.
